Paul Kurtz

Paul Kurtz (Newark, 21. 12. 1925. – Amherst, 20. 10. 2012), američki filozof, autor i profesor, često oslovljavan kao "otac sekularnog humanizma". Obrazovao se na Univerzitetu New York i Columbia, a karijeru profesora filozofije ostvario je na koledžima Trinity, Vassar i Union, Novoj školi za društvena istraživanja, te Njujorškom državnom univerzitetu u Buffalu. Bio je utemeljitelj i čelnik više skeptičnih i humanističkih organizacija, uključujući Odbor za skeptično istraživanje (engl. Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, bivši CSICOP), Vijeće za sekularni humanizam (engl. Council for Secular Humanism) i Centar za istraživanje (engl. Center for Inquiry). Godine 1969. osnovao je i izdavačku kuću Prometheus Books. Napisao je na stotine članaka za razne medije i objavio odnosno uredio preko 50 knjiga koje su prevedene na 60-ak jezika.
