Helmut Berthold (19 april 1911 – 2000) was een Duits handballer.
Op de Olympische Spelen van 1936 in Berlijn won hij de gouden medaille met Duitsland. Berthold speelde twee wedstrijden.
In zijn actieve tijd was hij aangesloten bij Sportfreunde Leipzig.
