The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (sering disingkat menjadiZiggy Stardust^[1]) adalah album studio kelima karya David Bowie, dirilis pada 16 Juni 1972 di Inggris Raya melalui RCA Records. Diproduksi bersama oleh Bowie dan Ken Scott serta menampilkan band pendukung the Spiders from Mars, terdiri dari Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder dan Mick Woodmansey. Sebagian besar lagu ditulis sekitar waktu yang sama dengan album Bowie sebelumnya Hunky Dory (1971). Setelah album itu selesai, rekaman untuk Ziggy Stardust dimulai pada November 1971 di Trident Studios di London, dengan sesi lebih lanjut pada awal Februari 1972.

Kemunculan lagu "Starman", membuat Ziggy Stardust memuncaki nomor 5 di Inggris dan nomor 75 di Amerika Serikat. Awalnya menerima ulasan yang baik dari kritikus musik; beberapa memuji musikalitas dan konsep sementara yang lain tidak dapat memahaminya. Tak lama setelah dirilis, Bowie menampilkan "Starman" di Top of the Pops Inggris pada awal Juli 1972, yang mendorongnya menjadi bintang. Secara retrospektif, Ziggy Stardust dianggap sebagai salah satu karya terbaik Bowie dan telah muncul di banyak daftar album terbaik sepanjang masa.
