Star vs. the Forces of Evil adalah serial televisi animasi Amerika Serikat yang diproduksi oleh Disney Television Animation.^[1] Episode pertama ditayangkan pada 18 Januari 2015, di Disney Channel sebagai pratayang khusus, dan serial tersebut secara resmi ditayangkan perdana pada 30 Maret 2015 di Disney XD.^[1] Serial tersebut dibuat oleh Daron Nefcy, yang pernah mengerjakan papan cerita untuk Wander Over Yonder dan Robot and Monster. Nefcy menjadi wanita kedua yang membuat serial animasi untuk Disney Television Animation (pertama kali adalah Sue Rose, yang membuat Pepper Ann), dan wanita pertama yang membuat serial Disney XD.^[2]^[3] Pada 12 Februari 2015, Disney memperbarui serial tersebut untuk musim kedua sebelum penayangan perdananya di Disney XD.^[1] Musim kedua ditayangkan perdana pada 11 Juli 2016.^[4] Pada 4 Maret 2016, serial tersebut diperbarui untuk musim ketiga,^[5] dan pada 28 Februari 2017, serial tersebut secara resmi diperbarui untuk musim keempat.^[6]

Alur

Star Butterfly adalah putri ajaib dari dimensi Mewni. Pada hari ulang tahunnya yang ke-14, dia menerima tongkat pusaka keluarga. Setelah dia secara tidak sengaja membakar istananya, orang tuanya memutuskan bahwa pilihan yang lebih aman adalah dengan mengirimnya ke Bumi sebagai pertukaran pelajar asing. Dia berteman dengan Marco Diaz dan tinggal bersama keluarganya saat bersekolah di Akademi Echo Creek. Star dan Marco harus berurusan dengan kehidupan sekolah sehari-hari sekaligus melindungi tongkat Star agar tidak jatuh ke tangan Ludo, penjahat dari Mewni yang memimpin tentara monster. Star dan orang-orang dari Mewni mampu melakukan perjalanan melintasi dimensi menggunakan "gunting dimensi" yang bisa membuka portal.
