Raymond Edward Brown SS (22 Mei 1928 – 8 Agustus 1998) adalah seorang imam Katolik Amerika Serikat, anggota Serikat Santo Sulpis dan cendekiawan Alkitab terkenal. Ia dianggap sebagai spesialis terkait hipotesi "komunitas Yohanes", yang ia anggap berkontribusi terhadap penulisan Injil Yohanes. Ia juga menulis kajian-kajian penting soal kelahiran dan kematian Yesus.

• The Sensus Plenior of Sacred Scripture (Tesis Ph.D.). Baltimore, MD: St. Mary's University. 1955.  - This was his dissertation in partial fulfillment of his doctorate in Sacred Theology. Brown did much to define the term sensus plenior and had an enormous influence on the twentieth-century debate concerning the term.
