Pemilihan umum Presiden Amerika Serikat 2000 adalah pertarungan antara calon presiden dari Partai Demokrat, Al Gore, melawan calon dari Partai Republik, George W. Bush. Al Gore sebelumnya menjabat sebagai Wakil Presiden, sementara Bush berpengalaman sebagai Gubernur Texas dan merupakan anak kandung mantan presiden George H. W. Bush.

Presiden petahana dari Partai Demokrat, Bill Clinton, tidak dapat maju untuk ketiga kalinya, dan Wakil Presiden Gore berhasil menenangkan konvensi pencalonan. Bush dianggap sebagai calon favorit dalam konvensi pencalonan Partai Republik. Ia sempat bertarung sengit dengan Senator John McCain dan calon-calon lainnya, tetapi ia berhasil memenangkan konvensi pada hari Super Tuesday. Beberapa calon ketiga juga maju dalam pemilu, seperti Ralph Nader dari Partai Hijau. Bush memilih mantan Menteri Pertahanan Dick Cheney sebagai wakilnya, sementara Gore memilih Senator Joe Lieberman. Kedua calon memusatkan perhatian pada isu-isu domestik seperti anggaran, pajak dan reformasi program asuransi sosial federal. Clinton dan Gore tidak berkampanye bersama akibat skandal Lewinsky yang menimpa Clinton dua tahun sebelumnya.

Bush menang tipis dalam pemilu ini dengan memperoleh 271 suara elektoral, sementara Gore hanya mendapatkan 266 suara elektoral. Muncul sengketa terkait dengan pemenang 25 suara elektoral di Florida, terutama karena perbedaan 537 suara di Florida membuat Bush memenangkan pemilu ini. Keputusan Mahkamah Agung dalam kasus Bush v. Gore pada tanggal 12 Desember 2000 menghentikan semua upaya penghitungan ulang, sehingga Florida jatuh ke tangan Bush dan membuatnya memenangkan pemilu ini.
