Pembangunan internasional atau pembangunan global adalah konsep luas yang mencakup tingkat pembangunan berskala internasional. Pembangunan internasional merupakan dasar pengelompokan negara maju, negara berkembang, dan negara terbelakang. Namun demikian, ada banyak aliran dan kesepakatan terkait pembangunan suatu negara.

Pembangunan internasional dari dulu berhubungan dengan pembangunan ekonomi. Belakangan ini, pembangunan internasional sering dikaitkan secara menyeluruh dan multidisipliner dengan pembangunan manusia serta daya saing, kualitas hidup, atau kesejahteraan subjektif.[1]

Pembangunan internasional berbeda dengan pembangunan pada umumnya. Pembangunan internasional secara khusus terdiri atas lembaga dan kebijakan yang muncul setelah Perang Dunia II. Lembaga-lembaga ini bertujuan memberantas kemiskinan dan memperbaiki standar hidup di negara-negara yang sebelumnya terjajah.[2]
