John William Polidori (7 September 1795 – 24 Agustus 1821) adalah penulis dan dokter Inggris keturunan Italia. Dia terkenal atas roman-romannya dan disebut sebagai bapak genre vampir dari fiksi fantasi. Karyanya yang paling sukses adalah cerita pendek tahun 1819 berjudul The Vampyre, yang merupakan cerita vampir pertama dalam bahasa Inggris. Meskipun cerita itu pada awalnya pernah secara keliru dinyatakan sebagai karangan Lord Byron, baik Byron maupun Polidori menegaskan bahwa itu memang buatan Polidori.^[1]
