Apollonius dari Tyana (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Ἀπολλώνιος ὁ Τυανεύς; s. 15 – s. 100 M),[2] yang terkadang juga disebut Apollonios dari Tyana, adalah seorang filsuf Neopitagorean Yunani dari kota Tyana, provinsi Cappadocia, Anatolia, Kekaisaran Romawi. Menjadi seorang orator dan filsuf abad ke-1 pada masa Yesus, ia dibandingkan dengan Yesus dari Nazareth oleh umat Kristen pada abad ke-4[3] dan oleh penulis lainnya pada zaman modern.
Masa hidup
Apollonius lahir dalam sebuah keluarga Yunani kaya dan berpengaruh.[4][5] Meskipun tanggal kelahiran dan kematiannya tidak jelas, sebagian besar sarjana sepakat bahwa ia adalah orang yang sezaman dengan Yesus dari Nazareth. Biografer utamanya, Filostratus si Tua (sekitar 170 – s. 247), menyebutkan bahwa ia hidup pada sekitar tahun 3 SM – s. 97 M .[2][6]

Apollonius was born around AD2 in Tyana (modern day Bor in southern Turkey), in the Roman province of Cappadocia. He was born into a wealthy and respected Cappadocian Greek family, and received the best education, studying grammar and rhetoric in Tarsus, learning medicine at the temple of Aesculapius at Aegae, and philosophy at the school of Pythagoras.
